By way of introduction, I'm a long-time poster on this board and a 2015 Iowa State grad (2016 if you count the Master's year). I now live in the St. Louis-metro and I'm a football season ticket holder. Trips up from the STL to Ames are long so I do not make it to all of the games, but I'll be damned if I ever miss a big one and I always come up for the Iowa, Texas, OU and in general the September games.
Long story short, I'm finally in a position to buy a house. I wanted to reach out to the board here to see if there is anyone that could offer up some advice. I've recently engaged and my fiance and I have been looking for about a month. We have a pretty good idea in terms of what we are looking for and our current living arrangement gives us about three-four months to figure it out. Given the pandemic ongoing, listings are becoming more few and far between. For those with an educated guess, do you believe the market is going to sway heavily towards buyers in the near future as more and more people are laid off? I would anticipate prices taking a nose dive, meaning maybe it's better if I continue to hold out for a while before pulling the trigger.
Have a good weekend all!
