About a week ago I expected more grief from the post where I replied with all my cable bill history going back decades. As I mentioned in a followup post, I have been scanning all my utility bills and financial statements for years and saving them locally to my network attached storage device (NAS). To be a bit more accurate, I don't scan many bills these days as most are available for download on the web. A couple of years ago I discovered a service called FileThis.
FileThis automatically downloads your statements and can save them either to a cloud service or locally on your computer or to your NAS without any user intervention. It allows statements from up to 6 businesses to be downloaded without a fee, but if you have up to 12 it will cost you $2 per month. Up to 30 cost $5 per month. There is a big list of supported businesses, but only 5 that match my utilities and financial institutions. For me the business they do not support are Mediacom, Linn County REC, Collins Credit Union, Alliant Energy and Ames Utilities. I have requested they add those, but nothing has happened yet. I'm a bit surprised Mediacom and Alliant Energy aren't included in their businesses, but I guess not enough people have requested them.
Anyway, my main reason in posting this is to inform people of this great service, but also to ask if anyone on here uses it. I suppose not many are digital pack rats like me, but thought I'd ask.
