ESPN, the sports network that has hemorrhaged 7 million subscribers in just two years, which translates into $1.3 billion in lost revenue.
Individuals get sick and tired of paying for an obscenely-priced cable or satellite package, or "bundle" — and a big reason for that obscene pricing is E$PN. Whether you watch E$PN or not, if it is part of your cable package, you are paying that outlet $6 a month carriage fee. A few other channels also charge a high fee to cable providers, to have them included in a 'bundle', a deal, of a lot of other unpopular channels.
(and as such, there are gobs of other less interesting channels, that financially survive, by riding the coat tails of being included in a 'bundle' with E$PN, and others)
Money- or the lessor amount of it - talks to some.
After raking in the dough, and politicizing sport$, for years, E$PN is now considering bowing to its money idol, and modifying it's busines$ plan.
(but it is not likely modifying its hidden objective - talking heads inclusion of political ideology while others are watching a game)
[ and some wrongly pretend, or 'believe' that sport$ / games are in a bubble and insulated from politic$. ss$$sssuuurrrrrre ...uh, huh.... ]
