A couple of weeks ago, our daughter took us to a South African restaurant in Houston, Peli Peli. Beyond diamonds, apartheid, Gary Player, and the world's longest par 3, I knew next to nothing about the country or it's cuisine. Still don't know much more than before, but I did discover two things: Peli Peli is an outstanding restaurant and Bobowtie (pronounced bow booty) is in my top five dishes I have ever eaten. Think of it as the best, most flavorful pot pie you have ever tried. Found the recipe, but I'm sure it won't be as good. If it's within 75%...still a winner.
