I was in Ames today and decided to check out the new casino in Jefferson. The drive on 30 from Boone to Odgen is beautiful country. Big hills and valleys. It's not the first time I've made that drive, but it's been nearly 50 years since I took that shortcut home to southwest Iowa. West of Ogden it flattens out and while it's not the same as the hilly country, it's nice in it's own way.
To make things better I won a $1774.50 jackpot. I gave back $200 of it, but left there with a smile on my face. Both the GF and I won $200 in Tama on the way to Ames on Thursday, so this has been a great weekend for me.
