I was taking a prescription med the other day and noticed a different-sized and colored pill in the bottle. I just took it out thinking not too much about it and set it on the kitchen counter. A couple of days later, taking the same medicine and two more of the same kind of pill pop into my hand. Well, I think, what's this all about? So I call the pharmacy where I got the prescription and the pharmacist has me describe the pills. She gives me some name for it that I can't recall and tells me to bring the pills in and they will replace them. (I just remembered the name was tramodol.)
So I take the three pills, along with the bottle with my prescription in it, cause I really don't know if there are more of these pills in there or not. The pharmacist looks through them and tells me they found 10 of those pills in there (7 more in addition to the three I found) and that they were a pain reliever. How do you make a mistake like that?
Several things come to mind. A little far-fetched, but If for some reason the cops had descended on my home with search warrants at that time, I could have been arrested for illegal drugs. Do you think they would have believed me if I had said, oh the pharmacy must have done that by mistake?
Was the pharmacist on drugs when he/she filled my prescription. How do you mix blood pressure meds with pain killers?
What if I had taken one of those pills by mistake? DID I take one of those pills by mistake? How would I know?
The pharmacist said she'd leave a note with the manager about the incident, but she didn't seem too concerned about it.
I guess that's where the matter is going to end, but I'm really not happy with the ending myself.
