We've all seen, and been frustrated by the ridiculous number of, as well as the type of penalties that ISU has had the first two games.
The thing that I don't understand is why so many people are saying that the penalties are "on the coaches." I'm talking specifically about the three "ineligible player downfield" penalties in the Iowa game.
These guys, Jaypee Philbert in particular, have been coached, told a thousand times not to wander beyond the safe area proscribed by the rules. These are adults, D-1 football players, why exactly is it the fault of the coaches when an athlete does such dumb things? I don't understand.
