I know it's only one game, but after watching this domination tonight, I feel like the cancer on the team has left. It honestly makes me wonder what took so long to dump Mangino. This is now a much more confident team based on what I witnessed at Jack Trice tonight. All facets of the game were so much better. The play calling was a breath of fresh air, the offense moved the ball enough (only ONE 3 and out in the game) to keep the defense rested, and Lanning was damn good for his first start. He honestly reminds of of George Amundsen or a young Ben Roethlisberger.
I am getting excited once again about ISU football. There is now hope that the season can be salvaged and CPR will keep his job. Wouldn't this be an incredible story, after being SO close to being fired, that CPR and the program are resurrected going forward and we start having winning seasons?
