How many of you believe we ran a vanilla offense against UNI? If we did, I can't understand why. They beat us the last time they played us and I would think the staff wouldn't want to take that chance again.
However, I believe that is exactly what they did. I don't recall any plays in the run game, for instance, that weren't just straight dive plays -- handoffs to the RB up the gut. No sweeps, no reverses, no misdirection. Maybe they ran some of those and I just plain missed it?
Also in the passing game, there were very few WR screens. One that stands out was the play to Daley for a TD. But most of the passes were of the downfield variety. Only one pass to a RB as I recall, and that was on a scramble situation/busted play, where Richardson just made a play. No passes to the TE either. Seems pretty vanilla to me.
