There is a thread on another site talking about "The Wave". It started wit a fan stating he almost got in a fight because an Iowa D-bag got in his face because he "didn't wave long enough" to suit the D-bag. Then a discussion ensued about commercializing the gesture and expectations of recognition for how cool it is.
Then this post appeared:
"Having helped home school a child for over a year and a half who was treated at that hospital until she reached the just keep her comfortable stage at the end, the wave just always irritates me. She was never even there on a football Saturday when the parking is at it’s most ridiculous but her parents were so financially burdened by the parking situation there on top of her medical expenses. Putting the building somewhere else to alleviate that situation would have helped families more than a wave.
I am surprised they can still wave what with the constant patting themselves on the back."
Makes you think, that's for sure.
