After watching yesterday's Big 12 games, I'm left scratching my head about how everyone else seems to improve but us. KU doesn't count, basketball is their game. We simply have to find a way to be different and take advantage of it. We aren't a Texas school, we aren't K State, but what are we? What is our football brand? How can we do more with less? How can we beat spread offenses loaded with speed? What type of players can we recruit to Ames and win games? Until we figure out just what we want to be, winning consistently will be tough. K State figured out long ago to use the clock, play a run based spread and it has worked. Plus they used the schedule to win games over the years. I don't know the answers, but there are people that do. We need to reach out to some smart former coaches and figure it out.
