If you're one of these posters that get irritated when Iowa is brought up in a thread, then close this thread & stop reading NOW! And I'm still too bummed from Thurs.'s loss to deserve critical replies. Be nice. But, I think my punishment is finally being dished out. I've made no secret that I get sick of being around my colleagues at work that are mostly all, you guessed it....holier than thou, Hawk fans. While we were on our way to winning our 2nd big12 tournament last weekend, I couldn't help but snicker in PennState's victory sending the Hawks home early. While I refused to join the smack talkers on here that Iowa was too slow, too untalented, and god knows what else camp, I was typically accused of being a Hok lover whenever I said they would win or were dangerous. Bottom line, I have to find a cure for this disease....... but what? I've been so close, maybe too close to people that work in the ISU mens bb program that its become more than a passion but perhaps an obsession. Yes, I know we can rejoice in the last 4 years' success under Fred, while last night's win was Iowa's first in the NCAA's in fourteen years. I should probably skip the remaining games, but I enjoy watching NCAA tourney basketball too much. Man, we avoided Kentucky's bracket. We came into the tourney with momentum & decent matchups (so I thought). But no, now its Iowa, who controls their own destiny in "our" bracket. Vitale and others singing their praises all morning long is really punishment for my disease called hatred, isn't it? I must deserve this. Why haven't I been able to root for every team from our great state of Iowa? They are one very winnable Gonzaga game away from God knows more winnable games vs. UCLA, & who knows what after that? Seriously, from what I'm seeing, I don't think them beating Gonzaga would even be a mild upset. This could have been US. Some think it should have been US. But, as the symptoms of this ugly disease I have keep telling me, why did it have to be THEM?
