Here's an honest question..what if Iowa State hires a basketball coach who a good portion of the fan base is not sold on, and we end up middle of the pack next season? How long can that coach survive with a divided base? It would seem to me it's critical that a hire who can get everyone excited is a must. An assistant coach will not accomplish that I'm afraid. Other opinions?
