When it comes to watching and evaluating Iowa State games, I am an extrapolator. Or at least that's what I call it. I look that a particular level of performance and ask, how does that level project to future games? It's why I think a four-point loss at Oklahoma is actually a better game than a 20-point home win over Coppin State.

In fact, the Cyclones' level of play at OU probably extrapolates to a win in every remaining game on the schedule, save perhaps at Kansas. And that is with McKay struggling some and Cooke barely playing. Can Iowa State play at that level 20-some straight times? Probably not. But it reinforced for me that Iowa State can be "that good" and if it is "that good" most games, it will indeed be a special season.
