AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior guard Nazareth Mitrou-Long has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. The honor comes following a career-high 37-point outburst against Drake on Saturday in a 97-80 Cyclone win at the 2016 Hy-Vee Classic in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mitrou-Long connected on 14-of-18 (.778) shots from the field, including 8-of-12 (.667) from 3-point range. His 37 points were the most by a Cyclone player since Feb. 8, 2014 (Melvin Ejim, 48 vs. TCU). The senior set or tied Wells Fargo Arena Division 1 men's basketball records for points (37), 3-pointers (8), 3-point attempts (12) and field goals made (14) on the night.

It marks the second Big 12 Player of the Week honor of Mitrou-Long's career. The Mississauga, Ontario, native also won the award on Nov. 11, 2013.
