You seem to have a pretty good handle on the current state of affairs related to TV contracts and future trends. If streaming and un-bundling (sp?) occur at the rate some predict, what happens to all the conference networks? Will they be exposed? For example, the Big 10 has added more team sports to increase the product for their network, such as men's & women's hockey. I am sure there are other examples. I assume the SEC and Pac12 have done the same. It would seem that every school that has added new sports to fill media time could get hurt financially if TV media rights shrink significantly. I realize there are many schools with huge financial resources that could weather the storm but there are many that could not.
I did not include the Longhorn Network because I am under the impression they have not added new sports. They merely created a network to showcase what they already had.
In the end if this all happens will it be better for individual institutions to have control of their media rights or will there be another strategy at the conference level to counter the negative effects of declining TV dollars?
Anyway, if you have some thoughts on this I would appreciate your comments.
