need to have shoulder surgery? Did he sign his LOI then tell us, "Oh, BTW, my shoulders suck and I need to have surgery to have them repaired."? Or did Holberg recruit Williams knowing he was going to need shoulder surgery?
I remember being upset when I found out Williams needed shoulder surgery which makes me think he told the coaches after signing. I would have never recruited a player who I knew needed to have both shoulders repaired if I were the coach. Surgery can repair the damage, but it is not going to fix the problem that caused the damage to occur in the first place.
I felt the same way about Halice Cooke's hip surgery. If I remember correctly, Williams and Cooke have the same basic injury, just different joints. I'm less concerned about Cooke's injury because the hip is a more stable joint which should recover more easily with the proper physical therapy. (Assuming the physical therapist is competent.)
Anyway, I haven't been losing any sleep over Williams departure. I think we got ourselves out of a bad situation there and from comments I've seen on here it appears Holberg feels the same way. Why anybody would follow an assistant coach anywhere is still a mystery to me.
