Anybody catch his comments on KXNO. Murph asked him if Drake bball or ISU football was the harder job. Without any hesitation he said "ISU football!"
He explained that a big part of it is that you only need a couple of players to turn things around in bball (good point). Then he went on to say that DMac is and WILL BE the greatest coach that Iowa State has ever had. Basically said that it's impossible to get good enough players at ISU to win. The good ones in state (aside from 1 or 2) go to Iowa and there's really nowhere else for a school like Iowa State to find good players.
Murph then asked him about his impressions of Campbell. He said he appreciates his enthusiasm and he's done everything he should be doing at this point. Then he said something about how we'll see what happens after he gets beat 65-0 for the first time (as if that's a given).
I was pretty discouraged by his comments. The Woodley's have been pretty loyal ISU supporters from what I know. I think they are strong McCarney loyalists, though, which could explain some of his attitudes. Anyone have insights or thoughts?
