Hadn't communicated with STL-area 4-Star OL Marquis Hayes for a while and I saw some talk about him in another thread, so reached out with a text this morning.
Hayes said he is trying to make it for a visit to Iowa State this weekend, but doesn't know yet for sure. As of early May, he has ISU as his No. 1 school. Competition has really heated up for him and he's coming up strong showings at both the Kansas City Rivals camp and the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge last week in Atlanta. He was bumped from a 3-star to 4-star primarily on his standout showing in KC.
Hayes is up to double digit offers and his emergence the last couple of months doesn't help ISU's chances, by default. It's just a much more crowded market now. But he obviously still has Iowa State high on his list.
