In general, the goal for every season is to make the NCAA Tournament. Of course, in 'up' years, the goal is to win the Big 12 regular season, achieve a high seed, and make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. But even then, the baseline is to make the NCAA Tournament. It sounds crazy, but we are a win over Florida A&M and TCU from likely being squarely on the bubble for that very thing.

Point is, I don't think making the NCAA Tournament in and of itself is that hard of a task. Win home games, beat teams you should, and don't screw up (too much). If we don't make it this year, that's two out of three years falling short. If we don't make it next year, that's three out of four. That is unacceptable at Iowa State. However, with that said, there are plenty of chances left this year to make it. Not sure we have a team capable, but we are sitting at No. 71 in the NET rankings today. If we can move up to the top 45-ish, I'd say we have a legit shot. Winning two of our next four would be huge.
