The 52-55 game between Tech and TCU a couple of weeks ago seems to create the impression that scoring TD's is an absolute must.

But also note the '3 points' that was the difference in the final score:
Each team connected on a mid-range FG. 3 pts each.
TCU had a 2 pt. conversion (instead 1 point kick) plus a 2 pt. safety. That was the margin. 3 points.
The 2 pt. is a 3 yd play, on the goal line - by the offense
The 2 pt. safety is a goal line play - by the defense.

The less enamored, less hyped, low points scored, count too.
They can be the difference makers.
They count big !!!

Summary for ISU to consider in the next game (and the next game, and the next...):
Come on Cole - and the FG kicking team - we need your scoring !! (not so much the showboat / potential penalty)
Come on Offense and Defense - your 'explosive' plays in short yardage, can be game changers.
Come on Punt team - we need you to greatly help shift the field position.
Come on Kick return teams - we want and need the ball possessions.

Together with ball possession, gaining yards, and first downs, playing to the whole team's potential, in the relatively more open field between the red zones....it all adds up.
( and we know that the opponents know that too... )
