I discovered that ISU is moving to discourage non-contributors from piggy-backing on contributors in order to get good seats.

Example: In years past, a person could be a Victory member, buy the four Trice Club tickets that permitted, and also buy four tickets in a Captain's section (35, for example). Not any more. This year, buying those four Section 35 seats requires an additional Captain's level contribution.

It's not entirely that simple, though. If you don't take full advantage of what your level entitles you, the remainder can be applied to another purchase. It's kinda bizarre, actually.

Example: Say a fan pops for $7,500 to attain Victory status. That enables him to buy four tickets in the Trice Club. But if he only buys two, ISU considers him to have a $3,750 credit. That's Captain's level, so he can buy those four Section 35 tickets without an additional contribution.

Let's do the bottom line here. Last year, our fan could get four tickets in the Trice Club and four in Section 35 for about $13,400. This year the same eight seats cost $19,400. Victory club has been bumped from $5,000 to $7,500, and a Captain's club donation of $3,500 is required.

I have no problem with the underlying logic, but they could have been more clear about it.
