Folks, I went through the grieving process of losing Fred over three weeks ago now because I honestly knew at that time he was gone. I am now quite relieved and even though I believe Fred deceived us somewhat with his statements when he took over as the ISU coach, I am forgiving and forgetting. Fred did bring our basketball team to national prominence and for that I am very grateful.
Now we face the next chapter of going through the process on the hiring of a new head coach. I am optimistic that this new coach, whoever it turns out to be (though I believe it will be TJ), will continue the success and the coaching style that Fred initiated. The program is in much better shape now than it was 5 years ago. I very much look forward to this next season and seasons to come. Even though I was really bummed out about Fred leaving us a few weeks ago, my optimistic attitude is back in all its glory.
