A number of good things to win it. Nader was big. The hit-ahead by him to Naz for a layup was huge.
But there were so many egregious errors that could have led to a loss. Mind blowing turnovers. Fouling WV late to give them another chance- several times in the last couple of possessions. So many loose balls that ISU didn't get. Morris fouled out with under a minute. Niang immediately through a pass that was a turnover. BDJ couldn't get a rebound that allowed a 2nd chance. Naz missed a late FT when the lead was only 2.
ISU tried really hard to hand that one away but didn't.
A lot of the things we're seeing now, I just watched in that game. Offensive rebounds allowed. Not strong enough with the ball. Loose balls, unlucky bounces. Wow. Even knowing ISU won that game, it was NOT fun to watch that again. The win was the thing that mattered.
ISU had a lot more depth in that game. They will have to play with so much poise and strength and better BB IQ tonight.
