Just looked up the numbers and ISU has 231,317 through 4 games, while Iowa has 245,820 through 4 games. Average per game is 57,829 for ISU and 61,450 for Iowa. ISU looks to average more per game this year in the new Jack Trice than the sell out number from last year, which is pretty good considering that win loss record. However, the attendance numbers for Iowa actually look really weak considering the team is 7-0 and likely will go to 12-0. They are averaging 10,00 empty seats per game, which considering there were getting 70K per game not too many years ago, it appears they have lost some of the fan base.
To be blunt, considering what ISU fans have had to endure for the last 100 years, we have fans that are second to none. Think what would happen if we were heading to 12-0 and we actually developed band wagon fans. We would need 90K seats.
Some additional info: Iowa even if they sell out their 3 remaining games will still have lower attendance than last years team. ISU is close to being top 30 in Attendance. Last Year Kentucky was 30th with 57,400 per game.
