Frank Lindwall from Cedar Rapids won the Iowa Junior PGA Championship which was held at the Ames Golf & Country Club on July 5th and 6th. Frank is going to be a high school senior at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He committed to Iowa State earlier this year. Frank advances to the National 41st PGA Junior Championship, which will be held at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, RI from August 9-12, 2016.
It's great to see a future Cyclone have such great success, but it's even better considering Psyclone gave his dad Clay a job at Rockwell Collins after graduating in engineering from Kansas State. He joined my former work colleagues for a beer last night where he gave me the news about Frank winning the championship in Ames.
