Is long termed sustained success even possible??

I say that based on the last 40 years as a sample size. You can argue Johnny had some successes, but many of his teams were not built to make long runs in the tournament over a long period of time and many times just squeaked in.

we loved Floyd and LE but they always seemed to take the path of least resistance in recruiting and when they did get high end high schoolers, many left before their 4 years stints were completed. And as we know, each left under different circumstances.

Fred obviously wanted something else but he too left after a few years. Many of his teams were really hurt in the tournament by seeding. Mainly because we lost some games we shouldn’t have during the regular season.

I guess my point is that we all want consistency and success. It’s just that no matter who we’ve had, it just hasn’t been there.
