Fourth Quarter:

It was another Cyclone defensive lineman recording a sack early in the fourth quarter to kill UNI’s hopes on a 4th-and-4, as Dale Pierson recorded his third sack of the night while bringing Aaron Bailey down for a one-yard loss. I-State took over with at the UNI 41-yard line with a 17-point lead and 13:34 left on the clock.

With time running out late in the game, and Allen Lazard on the bench resting up for next weekend, it was yet another Cyclone return man going for big yardage as Trever Ryan took a punt 81 yards for a touchdown. The score came with three minutes to play and put ISU up by a 31-7 margin. It was quite a reversal of fortunes for ISU, which scored 21 unanswered points in the second half.

Advantage: Iowa State.
