Fourth Quarter:
The Cyclones sustained their first scoring drive of the second half early in the fourth, going 86 yards on 10 plays and using up just 2:46 of clock. Jacob Park completed 3-of-5 passes for 36 yards to put his team just outside the red zone. Then the quarterback followed that up with a 23-yard back shoulder pass to Dondre Daley who walked into the end zone for the touchdown. I-State cut the deficit to 31-24 with 13:04 left to play.
Oklahoma took over leading by just one score and the offense decided to kick it into gear. Dimitri Flowers rushed five times for 19 yards, as the Sooners would have to rely on the arm of Baker Mayfield. The starting quarterback completed two passes for 15 yards. The drive would stall out inside the red zone and Austin Seibert was called upon to kick a 35-yard field goal. He converted to give the Sooners a 34-24 lead with a shade over seven minutes to play.
Iowa State had one final drive to get it back to a one-score deficit, but never really got going. Kene Nwangwu rushed twice for 15 yards and Mitch Harger added a two-yard rush. But after facing a 2nd-and-8, Park fired three consecutive incomplete passes to turn it over on downs.
With the ball in opposing territory, 12th-ranked Oklahoma ran out the clock on a 34-24 victory over Iowa State.
Advantage: Oklahoma.
