I'll continue to post these as I get them, but I inquired with the eight previously-committed Cyclone commits to get some overall impressions of their official visits to Ames last weekend.
"My official visit this past weekend was awesome. I really enjoyed being around some of the other recruits as well as being around some of the commits. I had previously talked with some of the recruits, and finally seeing them in person was really cool. We did a lot of fun things like playing golf simulator, axe throwing, and playing basketball Coach (Matt) Campbell‘s house. I also got a chance to spend a lot of time with Coach (Joel) Gordon, Coach (Tom) Manning, and Coach Campbell."
"Honestly, it was an amazing experience. To get up there with the current players and recruits was perfect, and the weekend was even better. I feel like in the short time we were there, we all built bonds with each other that will help leading into the upcoming season. Also, we built a stepping stone for when we all get in there some this winter and some next summer. 'Excited' isn’t even the word that can describe how I feel about this recruiting class, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future."
"The official visit was awesome and definitely exceeded my expectations. It was really well organized by the staff and just an overall great time to spend with coaches, players, recruits, commits and the rest of the staff. Our player hosts did a great job making the recruits feel at home and left great impressions. The activities were also a lot of fun and getting to finally meet a lot of the commits and recruits was also great."
"The visit went amazing. It was so much love between the families, including the coaches, that were being shown for me. This was my first time meeting some of the other guys I was with and it felt like I had been knowing them for years, man. Overall, it was great and I truly didn’t want to leave I can’t want to get up there."
"For starters, it felt like home. I was able to talk to Coach Campbell and told him, if anything, coming back up here was more reassuring of the possibilities this team can achieve. Being around the other commits and recruits that they're trying to land, a lot of us saw the team that they're building. How much better coming here we can make it. That was kind of a big thing. I was with Cam (Smith), Kai (Black), JJ (Kohl) and Micah (Mays). We all kind of made it a thing to try landing each other's guys and show them what we saw that made us want to commit. I'm glad that a lot of them are seeing the same vision that we did. We've got a couple more guys coming that are going to blow the lid off this thing."
"The Iowa State visit had great vibes and the atmosphere was great. My mom loved it. She was excited about the visit. I love the coaching staff there. They showed love to my mom and the other recruits. We got to meet some of the players and they explained how Coach Campbell has changed the program and how he's changed their lives. I built great relationships with the other commits. It felt like I already knew them before i met them."
