Will this be the year that ISU has a game in Jack Trice that sells more tickets than one of the Iowa games in Kinnick? Iowa has 70,000 seats, JT will have 61,000+. Iowa used to sell out all their games at home. However, last year they had the following sales:
UNI 66,805
BSU 64,210
ISU 70,585
IU 68,590
NW 66,887
UW 68,610
NU 66,897
The only game sold out last year was ISU. They had 2-4K empty seats for Wisconsin and Nebraska for crying out loud!
The lowest attended game was 64,210, just 3,000 above the new JT capacity. From what I am hearing here in IC, the season ticket sales are going down. Could Iowa see a game, like the "Mean Green" game where there are less than 61,000 tickets sold. Could they , (gasp!), see a game in the 50's? Their home slate is just awful next year. I expect that at a minimum, the first 2 games, UNI and Iowa in JT will become the new records, and all seats will be sold.
