In quoting a walk on recruit to the Nebs, in today's Omaha World Herald, I found this interesting:
In part, Caden McCormack, linebaker for Lincoln Southwest and Nebraska walk on commitment, is quoted as saying the following:
"It wasn't necessarily persuasion, but it kind of was with (Frost) saying that the walk-on program was better than taking a scholarship at K-State or Iowa State".
The parenthesis was inserted by the OWH Staff Writer, not by me.
The quote is a little awkward as published, but I interpret it to mean that the reference to ISU and KSU came from the NU coach. I will admit that it is probably my ISU bias showing, and I know a lot is said by opposing coaches to get a kid, but given financials and academic opportunities, I think in that situation Iowa State offers more. Just my opinion.
And to be fair, the recruit goes on to say that his younger brother influenced him to go to NU as well.
