All aspects of our fb team need to be better. I don't think there is any question of that. But defense needs to be improved the most, imo. We were truly abysmal last year in most games. Not every snap, of course, but much of the time - and particularly at key moments.
It seems we have fewer residual injury issues on defense, so I really am looking forward to seeing the spring game and the performance of the juco and other newcomers. Particularly I want to see the DT position and if Tucker, Ayeni, Aka, Trent, and Cousin look like average or above players. Also, linebackers like Harris, Jones, Northrup, Seely, Mills, Sen Bucher and Harvey look like. Imo, thos are the two critical positions. Not that DE and DB are loaded, but they are more experienced and I just feel better about their level of play.
