I received notice that my SS Number may have been compromised. The alert states, "We found a match to your Social Security Number on the dark web. While this information doesn't necessarily mean you are a victim of identity theft, you may be at risk."
This is from ProtectMyID, of which I have membership via AAA.
Diving in further, ProtectMyID suggests I set up a Fraud Alert with Experian. By doing this, I need to give a lot of personal information, including my SS #, of which I'm hesitant to do.
I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experience with this, and/or any suggestions of someone I should talk to (thinking of asking my bank if they have any suggestions).
Thank you in advance.
