I visited my home town Odebolt for the first time in about 10 years. Since there is no place to eat lunch in Odebolt we went to Ida Grove. While at Zimmy's Bar and Grill (while wearing my Cylcone gear) we were seated in a "hawkeye" booth with hawkeye paraphernalia all about the place. When our waitress appeared, I half-jokingly asked where is the Cyclone stuff was, and her response was "80% of Iowans are hawkeye fans." I said what about Trevor Ryen? Here response was ....Who?
After lunch I asked here if there was any Cyclone stuff in the place. Her response was "yes" so I said "may I see it." She led me to the far corner, and low-and-behold, there was a small inconspicuous ISU plaque there (the University not the Cyclones.) At the occupied booth sat two more "hawkeyes." I said "I went to Iowa State" whereas I got the "sorry to hear that, around here 90% of us are hawkeye fans."
