they pay a guy way too much to make it appear to them that they have an elite program.... all the while under performing in a week conference. Beating the "nobody's" to get a nice record while never really having a good win on their schedule. It was a Hoax.
Now who is the sucker? I feel like I have been duped. I bought into all the new facilities, all the marketing and hype, drank all the kool-aid and have up'd my donation and season ticket purchases....... and yet after 7 years we still don't have a program that can compete with the likes of a poor Iowa team or a good MAC team. SEVEN YEARS! The program is worse now that it was when CPR was hired. I know Chizik's record was terrible, and he was the worst game-day coach I have ever seen. But he had the players/recruits on board that gave CPR his greatest success.
After the game Saturday I could only ask ONE question.... WHAT HAS PAUL RHOADS REALLY DONE FOR THIS PROGRAM?
He didn't get the new facilities, Jamie Pollard got that done. He hasn't gotten more butts in seats, Jamie Pollard and his marketing has done that. Paul Rhoads' real job is to WIN FOOTBALL GAMES. He has been given every ounce of support from every possible source.... whether it be the school President, the AD getting him better facilities, or the fans showing up in record numbers and giving record levels of donations. Everything is in place for the program to be a success except the performance on the field. He is failing.
How is it that a team like TOLEDO can build a program that is good enough to beat Arkansas and Iowa State..... but we can't? We are truly doing less with more.
