I do not see the reason for why the run call to Warren is being so criticized.

Unless somebody can tell me otherwise, we were going to have to punt the ball, unless we did some other unique, if not exotic things. Those had risks too. Your running back is your ball protection guy.

No way do you ever put the destiny in the opposing team's hand if you can reasonably avoid it.

Short of taking a knee, handing off the ball to your 1000-plus yard running back up the middle is about the safest play you can call, and it runs the potential of moving the sticks, which we needed.

Most anything else, is unusual. And anything else has it's own set of risks too.

Do we not remember handing the ball of to Woody? Did we criticize the play calling then? Did we sit there after the win asking why the heck we called such a risky play when we didn't need to? Did anybody complain about not taking a knee and kicking the field goal.

No. Because the run up the middle was a low risk call.

Every situation available to Rhoads had it's risks. The fact is, this was a very low risk call.

I just don't see how the call can be criticized to the extent that it is.

(In my opinion.)
