I am surrounded by insufferable Hawk fans in an office here in Des Moines. There was a blanket e-mail that just went around asking all of us to show alliegance to the Hawks for their Rose Bowl game by wearing black and gold hawk gear on Thursday. Celebrations will take place with a best dressed Hawkeye fan with prizes, etc. I sent a reply back to the "committee" letting them know that I am a Cyclone and will not be participating. Does anyone have some Stanford gear to lend?
It is like there is no regard for anything other than SUI here, and it shocks me to think this is Des Moines not Cedar Rapids-Iowa City-Quad Cities. It is not like this is a small office. There are over 500 people here. Should I quit?
Please let there be an epic beat down on Friday. I want nothing left but scorched earth on the Hawkeye sidelines. I want it to be like a rapture with the disappearance of all Hawkeyes in Pasadena. I want it to be a JerseyCY-like reckoning that will ge down in sports history. I want some peace...please, please, please.
