Talent wise, we would have obviously been better off with Irving and Coe last year. I had blinders on and was hoping otherwise, but I was badly wrong. Hypothetical question: Would we have been better off looking the other way, or giving a one game suspension, or something? Did removing the "cancers" make the program better enough to justify making the team worse?
I don't know the answer. I used to think absolutely take the high road. But the high road has got us decades of miserable football. I am not suggesting cheating, but can we afford to not look the other way now and then in terms of behavior and character.
