The wildly inconsistent team was just that in this game. Coming off what could and should have been a momentum-building victory, they had nothing in the first 5 minutes in this game.

Burton, the Big 12 POTW, had exactly 2 points at halftime. And those were on the give-the-entire-fan-base-a-heart-attack dunk. He was more concerned with getting his feet right somewhere between the Horn logo and the Big 12 logo, than just making a basket, with his team still considerably behind.

Morris, had zero FGs at halftime, missing at the rim, like every other Cyclone has done this season.

Team gets down 17-3, joining digging the hole at KU, at OU, at Iowa, vs. Gonzaga, home against TT, and other games.

This team has very little idea on loose balls. There were 8 or 10 of them. Texas got most of them. The team that can't get a rebound, couldn't get one on the Horns final miss, which didn't draw iron, only backboard. Ball fell right to them and they got fouled and to the line.

The 3 they slopped in at the end of the first half turned out to be the difference.

With all of that, ISU somehow gets a really good 3 attempt from Matt and he had a shot at making it.

ISU had 3 chances to take the lead/win the game. Bowie- in and out shot. Burton fell down and turned the ball over. Matt missed the 3 for the win.

So in two games against Texas, one in 2015 in the Big 12 Tournament and this one, ISU didn't lead for any of the 40 minutes on the clock, 80 minutes total in two games, and won 1 and lost 1.

In the league, ISU has won at KU, at O-State and at OU, and lost by 2 points each at Baylor and at Texas. The road game where ISU didn't have a chance to force OT or win at the end was at freaking TCU.

In the end, ISU may have had to win this game to go better than 9-9 in the conference.
