I said this two years ago, and it still holds true today. I was told I was an idiot then, and I'm sure I'll will told the same this time.
I understand the financial implication of firing CPR. I understood it two years ago. Who extended CPR contract for 7 yrs, making it a 10 year contract? We are in this mess for two reasons: 1) CPR is a sincere guy. Hard working guy. Problem is he was TOTALLY the WRONG guy for this job. WAY over his head. Not his fault, but it is the fault of the guy that hired him & extended his contract. 2) I believe the guy who hired him will stand by him because he is "Joined at the hip" and if/when CPR goes, so does he. I HIGHLY doubt Leath will allow him to hire the next coach? JMHO.
Now, the bottom line is this. We, as fans, Vote with our A$$es in the seats. We lose year after year, and we KEEP coming for the punishment. That's how JP gets away with it. As long as he can get us to keep coming, nothing changes. Again, MHO. My problem is that I'm not happy with really crappy FB any longer & I believe with the correct leadership, ISU CAN become a pretty good FB School. I believe that will NEVER happen under a CPR regime.
