Last night the CGC Board met with Coach Campbell. He laid out his vision for the club's role in helping assist him and his needs as he rebuilds the program. These are the things that stuck out to me in the meeting:
1. At Toledo, what they had as the equivalent to the CGC was something called "Rocket Fuel." This football-only fundraising program was ran by the coaches. So, CMC is already very relieved he does not have to carry the load anymore.
2. CMC has a meeting with Nike on Monday to discuss alternate uniforms. I know everyone has their opinions on this, but the bottom line, and CMC acknowledged this himself, 18-22 year-old-student-athletes love this stuff. He expects possibly two alternate options for 2016, with more in the future.
3. He feels the Bergstrom Football complex is currently "uninviting" to players. He wants a more "welcome" feel and is possibly going to install a student-athlete lounge in the building.
4. The spring game is tentatively scheduled for April 16.
5. There will be a national signing-day event held in the South Endzone Complex February 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. This will be open to the public and will broadcast live on CyclonesTV.
