I just saw that Frank Lindwall from Cedar Rapids has committed to Iowa State to play golf. That excites me because Frank is the son of Clay Lindwall. Many years ago I hired Clay fresh out of school to an engineering position at Rockwell Collins. When our careers paths went our separate ways, we continued to stay in contact with frequent after work discussions over a few beers. Eventually his career took off and he currently is the vice president for government systems engineering. That is a huge organization with hundreds of engineers in his organization. I am both proud and excited that his son has decided to play at Iowa State after visiting many schools across the country.
