Georges takes us on some of the wildest rides I can remember - for a very good player. The things he does with limited athleticism are simply amazing. But, when he goes bad, seemingly he is just awful. All good players have bad spells. And, he doesn't have many, but when he does, they are just so memorable. I think I know why. It is because it is just so opposite of what we are used to seeing from him.
He is a heck of passer for a big man, but when he gets in a turnover mode (seem to come in clumps) he is bad. You scratch your head and think "what was he thinking?" He is a good shooter, but he will rush untimely shots at times. It is almost like he is two different players. We get the good one 85% of the time, which is why it so befuddling when bad Georges suddenly appears.
Is it a case of just trying to do too much or too fast? If he could eliminate the bad (and just be average in those brief spells) he would be a really serious contender for Player of the year. When he is on, he is better than Doug McDermott was, but those mystifying spells keep him from quite reaching that consistency.
