1. ISU fell asleep the whole 2nd half. Absolutely no halftime adjustments. Coaching staff gets an F.
2. Complete momentum killer by not going for it on 4th and 1/2 yard. At that point in the game, the OL was actually doing well and we did have a decent run game going, at least no negative rushes that I can remember. We have the lead and a chance to step on their throats and we puss out.
3. 2nd string LB's are not good. Beathard's long runs are a failure of the LBs, Wally. Outside of Harris and Jones, no Big XII LBs. Sorry, Knott and Peters, you are great guys but not big enough or fast enough.
4. Tucker was great when he was playing. His injury had the same effect on the defense that Farniok's injury had on the offense last year. Hope he can play, and at full speed.
5. Why can Iowa's TE always get WIDE open?
6. Our passing routes are terrible. We go with 4 wideouts and ALL of them run straight downfield, the same distance, and turn around. Very easy to defend. We need some routes designed to clear an area and then drag a receiver through there. Crossing patterns, varying depths, etc. Very disappointed. All our throws are to the sideline. We need to go over the middle more often. Also need to get TE involved. I only saw 1 play where our TE actually went out for a pass. Down the seam and looked open but Sam had already locked onto one receiver. ( Another story)
7. Ryen is explosive with the ball. Get him outside. We tried to run him between the tackles??????? What is he 180lbs??
8. Campos played well against Ott.
9. Dale Pierson and Jarnor Jones are playing well.
10. Weather was beautiful and tailgating was awesome.
