I had kinda lost track of him after he transferred, but watching the 2009 game against Nebraska again got me to wondering what became of him. I knew he transferred to Hampton, but that was about the extent of it. Well, it turns out he rushed for over 1,000 yards (1,043) at Hampton his senior year, which was 2012. He played sparingly his first two years at Hampton.
He was the first guy to rush for over 1,000 yards at Hampton since 2009, when LaMarcus Coker had 1,027. Coker was a starter for Tennessee in 2006 as a freshman. In 2007, he was the starter over Arian Foster, who now plays for the Texans, when he was kicked off the team for violating the drug policy and transferred to Hampton. So Schwartz was in some pretty good company.
Schwartz was invited to the NFL combine, where he measured in at 5-10 1/2, 231, did 23 reps of 225, ran a 4.77 40, and did a 9'10" broad jump and a 35-inch vertical. Not sure if he ever got an invite to an NFL camp.
