I just spoke with JUCO defensive back Kamal Hardy, of Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York, who said he was offered over the phone by CPR this morning. This is the first offer of any kind for the 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback. Hardy is originally out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, which is of course a very heralded program in south Florida. Hardy was recruited out of high school by current Cyclone secondary coach Maurice Linguist, who was then at Buffalo. Hardy is tentatively planning an April 11th unofficial visit to Ames and an official visit in late-summer, early-fall. I'll put together a story on Hardy and we'll have it in the coming days. He claims other interest from three other non-P5 schools, so with an offer out there, the Cyclones are in pretty good standing at this juncture.
Since Hardy doesn't have a current JUCO Rivals profile, I've linked his Hudl profile with highlights of his freshman season at Monroe College.
