I think we will have a better team for the following reasons:
  1. Mangino's offense will be more comfortable with him and he with them. 2nd year will mean a lot.
  2. Sam Richardson 2015 will be better than Sam Richardson 2014
  3. Offensive Line will be better. 2nd year under Blaney and more experience going in.
  4. Commitment to the running game - bigger TE's, more physical line play particularly on the interior seems to me to be a real emphasis, not just words.
  5. Desmond Tucker looked to be, in the Spring game, the first interior disruptor we have had in quite awhile.
  6. LB play seemed faster with Harris and Jones. Still concerned about Peters/Mills.
  7. Truly think we may have the best secondary since 2005. Not as much experience as 2005, but more depth.
The downside is that we were so poor last year, we can be a lot better and not have a winning team. I still think we get to 6 wins, but we will know by the end of the Iowa game.

As for our opponents, it is a must to sweep the non-conference. Kansas, Texas Tech, and West Virginia are not overwhelming opponents. TCU, Baylor and OU are out of our league. K-State, Okie State and Texas are question marks. K-State has to take a step back sometime. Without that QB and receiver. I am not convinced Texas found the right man to fit their talent - yet. And Okie State didn't perform that well towards the end and something just doesn't seem the same there. Not sure what.

A fast start is not only needed, but it could build us through the tougher part of the schedule.
