Indications are that we will be better at most position groups this year. In some areas there may be significant improvement. There are some question marks, but I think if we don't get devastated by injuries, we should be a lot better. Our schedule doesn't look much easier, but lets take a closer look at the early games.
  • UNI will probably not be as good as NDSU was last year.
  • We get Iowa at home and they have a lot of question marks.
  • Going on the road to Toledo will not be easy considering we only beat them at home by 7 last year.
  • We get Kansas at home and will want to atone for last year's debacle.
After four games into the season, it's possible that we could win them all if we are improved as much as I hope we are. Taking a four game winning streak and a Cyclone team with confidence and a winning attitude on the road to Texas Tech and there's a chance at a 5-0 start to the season. I'm not predicting this, but their is a possibility for a great start to the season. With a start like that, who knows what could happen as we take on the brutal part of the season. Could we pick off 2 or 3 of those last 7 games? Will we see the return of the Rhoads upset special? Will any of these powerhouse programs slip this year?

Who knows what could happen if we start fast, start strong, stay healthy and go into the tough part of the schedule brimming with confidence? How great would it be to have a breakthrough season this year, when we least expect it?
