I asked for some info on the debt service payments related to football stadium capital improvements. Sr. Assoc. AD Steve Malchow sent me the following:
We have paid $26.7 million, of which $12.0 million was interest, in debt service on those projects.
I've also asked Steve if it's possible to breakdown the approx. $6.8 M in debt service payments for FY 2015 and the proposed approx. $8.3 M in debt service payments for FY 2016. That could give us an idea of what to stack on top of day-to-day expenses in terms of "what is being spent" on a given sport. I think Iowa State is still paying off the track/softball/soccer complex and there may be other non-football debt, I don't know for sure.
